Concetta R. Ruzzi Obituary
Concetta R. Ruzzi of West Haverstraw passed away on July 18, 2024. She was 95 years old. Concetta was born in Grassy Point, NY on February 3, 1929 to Carmine and Julia (Verrigni) Colleluori. She received her BS degree from Mercy College, and a Master of Science in Education from College of New Rochelle. Concetta retired from the North Rockland School District after 17 years of teaching in 1991. She is a member of NYSTRS (NYS Teachers Retirement System).
Concetta married Donato Leo A. Ruzzi in August 1949. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her children: Donald Ruzzi and wife Donna, Elaine Scarane and husband Nicholas, Philip Ruzzi and wife Margaret, and daughter-in-law Susan Ruzzi; Grandchildren Christopher (Meredithe), Matthew (Adriana), Lindsey, Anthony, Kathryn, Jessica (William), Kayla (John), Layna, Olivia, Isabella, and Juliette; Great Grandchildren Jasper, Leo, Primrose, Opal, Nino, Cece, Luca, Eva, and Everett. Concetta was predeceased by her husband, Leo, and her sons Anthony and Paul.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 from 4pm-8pm at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home in Garnerville, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, 10am at St. Peter’s Church, Haverstraw, followed by interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Haverstraw, NY.
