He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Santo; and his parents, Anthony Santo and Mary Santo. He is survived by: his sons, Paul Santo and Lee Santo. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, with another grandchild.
Armed with a bachelor's degree, he made significant contributions to the education sector as a special education teacher at Smithtown schools, where he tirelessly supported and inspired his students.
