He was predeceased by: his parents, Billie E. Simkins and Mary Simkins (Drake); his son Roberto; and his siblings, Michael, Penny and Patty.

He is survived by: his wife Kay Whitesell; his children, Billie, Shane, Casey, Tonya, Robin, Joey, David, Melissa and Vickie; and his siblings, Ivan and Susan. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
