He was predeceased by: his brother William Emery. He is survived by: his wife Susan I. Manroe; his children, Joseph P. Emery and Jennifer Updyke (Scott) of Andover; his sisters, Susan Roeske (Steve) of Kodiak and Mary Nevol (David) of Andover; his siblings-in-law, Charles Manroe (Koneta) of Canisteo, Bonnie Emery of Andover and Nancy Osgood of Arcadia, Fla.; and his grandchildren, Alex Emery, Ion Emery, Owen Emery, Preston Updyke, Colton Updyke and Tyton Updyke. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
