He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond and Beulah Johantgen Sr. (Welch); and his sister Helen Emerson. He is survived by: his wife Carol Farrell; his children, Dennis Johantgen, Susan Johantgen, Dean Johantgen, Sandra Bettis and Sherry Mott (Robert); his grandchildren, Nathan Mott, Brandon Mott, Brittany Bettis and Rachael Blum; and his brother Ardeen Johantgen (Alice). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews & cousins.
