He was predeceased by: his parents, John Cooney and Florence Cooney (O'Donnell); his wife Charlotte Isabelle Coleman; his daughter Kelly; his siblings, Dennis, Thomas, Daniel, Richard and Anne; his grandson Kenneth; his nephew Kevin; and his nieces, Mary and Maureen.
He is survived by: his children, Ronald Cooney (Candy) of Ulysses, PA, John Cooney (Mary Siano) of Manorville, NY, Dennis Cooney (Alison Miyamoto) of Fullerton, CA, Peggy Cunningham of New Port Richey, FL and Patricia Cooney of Belmont; his grandchildren, Colby, Coly, Colin, Katy, Kaley and Claire; and his sister-in-law JoAnne Cooney of Canisteo, NY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
