He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel M. Shea and Mary Elizabeth Shea (Purtill); his children, Dennis Shea and Wendy Schultz; and his siblings, MaryAnn Manning and Michael Shea.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Austin; his children, Nancy Schultz (Randy) of Manassas, VA, Daniel Shea of Andover and Donald Shea (Barbara) of San Antonio, TX; and his siblings, Timothy Shea (Eileen) of Wellsville, Brian Shea (Laura) of Hilton, Kate Knott (Doug) of Wellsville, Jeanne Purtill (Pat) of Wellsville, Patty Morley (Douglas) of Gold, PA and Peggy Atherholt (Stan) of Gold, PA. He is also survived by Nine grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
