He is survived by: his wife Karen Downs; his brothers, Tom (Diane), Jim (Valerie) and Doug Downs (Jodi); his siblings-in-law, Suzanne Murray (Brian), Linda Didsbury (Bruce) and Alan Major (Cathy); and his pet Olive. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Veterans Outreach Center or Lollypop Farm.
