We are sad to announce that on June 30, 2023, at the age of 92, Donald N. Shafer of Wayland, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Verne Shafer and Mildred Shafer (Kuhn); his son Michael Shafer; his grandson Zachary Scialdone; and his siblings, Laverne Shafer, Joyce Macaluso, Vivian Wheaton and Larry Shafer.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Shafer of Wayland; his daughters, Terry Johnson (Roger) of Dansville, Vicky Spencer (Harmon) of Wayland and Lynda Scialdone of Rochester; his grandchildren, Jaime Johnson (Nicholle), Ben Spencer (Bri Webster) of Wayland, Jon Spencer (Laura) of York City, PA, Alex Scialdone (Alexandria) of Webster and Matthew Shafer; his great grandchildren, Madison Spencer and Augie Scialdone; his siblings, Ray Shafer (Maryjean) of Camden, Sharon Randall (Stan) and Dawn Shaver of Wayland; and his sister-in-law Rosemarie Ober of Painted Post. He is also survived by many many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
