He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph L. Burke and Helen M. Burke (Dilley); his wife Wanda J. Burke (Hitt); and his half-brother Paul R. Dilley. He is survived by: his children, Robin L. Burke of Connecticut, Kathleen M. Gamble (Burke) of Florida, Joseph E. Burke of Florida, Melinda A. Burke (Linda Strom) of Vermont and Peggy Kelly (Stewart) of Massachusetts; his grandchildren, Karyn M. Gamble, Kory A. Gamble, Kaitlin M. Kelly and James R. Kelly; his siblings, John J. Burke (Shirley) of California, James E. Burke of Idaho and Helen M. (Burke); his husband Chet Howland of California; his niece Patricia Martinez of New York; and his sister-in-law Peggy Dowdell (Hitt).
