He was predeceased by: his parents, Cary Mitchell and Lakie Bea Mitchell; his wife Ernestine; his sisters, Bessie Thomas (Joseph), Velma Longford (Rosevelt), Mildred Bunch, Fannie Mae Bell (Joseph) and Helen Mitchell; and his son Daryl Mitchell.
He is survived by: his brother Donell Mitchell (Debbie); his son Vachel Mitchell (Dawn); his grandchildren, Veronica Shupp (Michael) and Travis Mitchell; and his great grandchildren, Saylor Shupp and Jameson Shupp. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
