He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Herbst Sr. and Irene Herbst (Murdick); his stepfather Joseph Gruber; and his brothers, Edward Herbst Jr. and William Herbst.
He is survived by: his children, Jessica Miller (Jason) of Albany and Kira Herbst (Lily) of Schwenksville, PA; his grandsons, Brendan and Brayden Miller; his significant other Maria Basco; and his siblings, Elizabeth Vandenburgh, George Herbst (Helen), Karl Herbst Sr., James Herbst Sr. (Beth) and Joe. He is also survived by his best friend.
