He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Bateman and Helene Reed Bateman; and his sister Lillian Wheatley (Donald). He is survived by: his son Steve; his wife Margaret "Peg" F. Rosney Bateman; his sons, John "Jack" Reed Batemen, Jr. (Carol) of Gansevoort and Stephen Charles Bateman (Lisa) of Waterford; and his grandchildren, Kailynn Laliberte (Jeff), Keith, Stephanie, Austin Tyler and Skyler Reed Bateman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
