He was predeceased by: his parents, James J. VanOlpen and Bessie VanOlpen (Doherty). He is survived by: his wife Ellen VanOlpen (Hanley); his children, Michele VanOlpen (Barbara Toll) and Erin Galante (Lyle); his grandchildren, Rachel Galante, Janelle Galante and Aidan Toll; and his sisters, Ruth VanOlpen and Effie VanOlpen.
