He was predeceased by : his parents, George Demarest and Edna Demarest (Kehn); his brother John Demarest (Biz); his wife Leona Demarest (Nelson); and his sons, George Michael Demarest (Mort) and Robert (Bobby).

He is survived by : his grandchildren, Sara Seeloff (Cory) and Kera Demarest; his great grandchildren, Karleigh and Logan Seeloff; his sister-in-law Martha Demarest (John); and his nieces and nephews, Fran Guilbault (Ron), Mark Demarest (Patti), Theresa Demarest and Lisa Demarest.

Visitation was held on Friday, June 21st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Parker Bros. Memorial Funeral Home, Inc. (2013 Broadway, Watervliet, NY 12189). A funeral service was held on Friday, June 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Parker Bros. Memorial (2013 Broadway, Watervliet, NY 12189).
