He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Messier and Rita Messier (Senecal); his wife Colleen C. Messier (Conroy); his daughter Nicole Messier (John Marino) of Saratoga Springs; his grandchildren, Elliot Messier, Luca and Jules Marino; his siblings, William Messier (Teddy) and Valerie Kurick; and his siblings-in-law, William Conroy (Faith), Karen Corey (late Paul), Michael Conroy (Diane) and Gary Conroy (late Carol). He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
