She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Samaniuk and Anna Wabyk Samaniuk; her husband John P. Tanchak; her son Joseph Tanchak; and her sister Mary Ksenich.
She is survived by: her siblings, Olga Lesniak, Michael, John Samaniuk and Agnes Kosarovich; her children, Esther Cheney (Edward), John Tanchak (Michelle) and Mary Mahoney; her grandchildren, Bruce Cheney (Sarah), James Cheney, Daniel Cheney (Stacey), Julie Stewart (Gregory), Erica Pisano (Ralph), John Douglas Tanchak (Jennifer), Lori Lucarelli (Andrew), Lisa Lane, Matthew Mahoney (Casey) and Kate Green (Andre); and her great grandchild Luke Michael Green. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
