He was predeceased by: his parents, Carol Berkman (Marshall) and Malcolm Berkman; his stepmother Arlene Berkman; his brother Bruce Sherman; and his former wife Donna Berkman (Patchen).
He is survived by: his fiancée Barbara Smith of Watertown; his sons, Justin J. Berkman (Kristi) of St. Johns, FL and Michael M. Berkman, Jr. (Kathleen) of Winter Garden, FL; his siblings, Patrick Berkman (Wanda Houghtaling) of Mansford, OK, Amy Schwerzmann (Peter) of Clayton, NY, Lee Rolfe (Bruce) of Adams Center, NY and Charles Berkman (Lucy) of Depew, NY; and his grandchildren, Michael III, Ryan, Garren, Gina, Kalan, Reya and Tess Berkman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home (632 State St, Watertown, NY 13601). A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Mike's name can be made to the Bleeding Disorders Foundation of Florida.
