He is survived by: his children, Rev. Jeffrey Smith, Kathryn Smith, Phil Smith (Deborah), Elizabeth Smith Faulk and Preston Chapman; his sisters-in-law, Alma Smith and Kathy Mitchell; his grandchildren, Kianna, Joshua, Andrew, Jennifer and Leanna; and his nieces and nephews, Willie, Robert Mitchell, Venessa Mitchell Ussery and Julia Mitchell Ellington.
