He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbert Messier and May Hayes Messier; his wife Nancy Saari Messier; his siblings, Michael Messier and Janet Brierley; and his grandchild Ariella.

He is survived by: his sons, Jason J. Messier (Nicole) of Holly Springs, NC, Jeremy W. Messier (Lauren) of East Greenbush, Justin M. Messier and Joshua L. Messier of Waterford; his brother Dave Messier of Waterford; and his grandchildren, Brody, Adelena, Serena, Everly and Liana.
