It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Kean Kayea Sr. of Wassaic, New York, born in Sharon, Connecticut, who passed away on November 15, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kayea and Aileen Kayea (Drown); and his siblings, Linda Webster, Charlene Swartz Vogt, Larry and Darrell Lamay.
He is survived by: his children, John Kean Kayea, Jr. (Margaret) of Dover Plains and Kellie Kayea of Wassaic; his sisters, Karen Ann Macking of Weslaco, TX, Coleen Jane Butts of Amenia and Kim Alaine Whalen of Dover Plains; his stepsiblings, Phyllis Grant, Darlene Sullivan, Cheryl Dennis, Linda Webster, Donald Lamay, Stanley Lamay, Richard Lamay and Merrill Lamay; his granddaughters, Cassandra Snyder and Kayla Brazzie; his great grandchildren, Isabella Johnson and Jagger Smith; and his former wife Kathy Jane Marshall of Wassaic.
