He was predeceased by: his brothers, James F. Rist, Jr. (Jean) and Thomas Rist; and his brother-in-law Louis Tiner. He is survived by: his wife Andrea Flescher; his daughters, Donna Thom (Shawn) and Lori-Ann Pentz (William); his siblings, Delores Tiner and Martin; and his sister-in-law Annemarie Rist. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Shriners Hospital in Donald's name.
