He was predeceased by: his parents, Marguerite Shorter and Clayton Shorter. He is survived by: his wife Diane (Sloat); his sister Brenda Wood of Knoxville, TN; and his close friend William Schmick. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
