He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward J. Scharfenberger and Elizabeth Scharfenberger (Jeckel); his brothers, Edward and Joseph; and his great-nephew Jonathan. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, their spouses, their children and several dear cousins.
