He is survived by: his former wife Dolores Mitchell; his children, Donella Jones of Andrew Burton, III, Magdalene Burton of Columbia, SC, Richard Smith of Aberdeen, N. C., Veronica Williams of Warwick, N. Y. and Kendall Burton of Aberdeen, N. C; his wife Joan Burton; his sisters-in-law, Bertha Marie Haynes Burton and Velma Lewis; his grandchildren, Kendel McDaniel, Tiajuana Green, Reno Burton and Kalira Khrystal Bell; and his great grandchildren, Darius Gogains and Jacquan Saddler. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
