He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Schafer and Klara Griffin Schafer; and his sisters, Mary Ormiston and Margaret Schafer. He is survived by: his wife Sheila Callahan Schafer; and his children, Therese Comstock (Gardner), Mary Schafer, Kristin Schafer, Eric Schafer (Beth) of Warsaw, Robert Schafer (Sarah) of Warsaw and Brian Schafer (Lisa) of Warsaw. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Robinson and Hackemer Funeral Home (246 N Main St, Warsaw, NY 14569). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM and at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, 171 N. Main St., Warsaw, NY 14569.
