He was predeceased by: his parents, John Motts and Florence Madison Motts; and his brother Stanley Madison. He is survived by: his wife Donna Severson Motts; and his sisters-in-law, Jackie Reniff (Don) of Dansville, Ellen Alcock (Geoff) of Arizona and Ada Severson of Portageville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
