She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Wood Sr. and Olga A. Krueger; her husband Walter; her siblings, Lewis Wood Jr., Armenia Cap, Neil Wood and Doris Morrissey; her sons, Craig Viele and Charles Viele; and her former husband Lester Viele Jr..
She is survived by: her niece Connie; her sister Nashville; her pet Saloon; her daughters, Connie Miller (Jeff), Cindy Viele (Jeff Kendzierski) and Cathy Viele; her grandchildren, Scott Beckwith (Kim Stewart), Chip Viele (Korina Jones), Jeremy Viele (Anita), Christina Kelsey (Shannon) and Genevieve Viele (Mike Gathier); and her stepgrandson Tim Woodard.
In lieu of flowers, Shirley has asked that donations be made to Conkling Center, 79 Warren Street, Glens Falls, NY 12801 or the Glens Falls Association for the Blind, 144 Ridge Street, Glens Falls NY 12801.
