She was predeceased by: her parents, John McElroy and Hazel McElroy (Walsh); and her siblings, Paul McElroy, Doris Rivers and Althea McElroy.

She is survived by: her husband Franklyn Smith of Queensbury; her children, David Smith (Teresa) of Glens Falls, Deborah Pinkerton of Warrensburg and Michael Smith of Canton; her sister Barbara Baker (James) of Warrensburg; her grandson Donald Pinkerton, III (Elizabeth); and her great grandchild Heath Alan Pinkerton. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
