She was predeceased by: her father Gordon LaVergne; her husband Richard Nissen; her mother Wilhelmina Carpenter (LaVergne); her grandmother Olive Carroll; and her brothers, Phillip LaVergne and William Carpenter.

She is survived by: her children, Julia Pearson (Denny), Janet Nissen, Richard Nissen (Marie) and Michael Nissen (Jennifer); and her brother Dick LaVergne (Judy). She is also survived by six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
