He was predeceased by: his father Roderic Whalen. He is survived by: his mother Raymonde Whalen (Dallas) of Florida; his wife Donna Whalen (Dunn); his son John F. Whalen of Warnerville; his sisters, Darlene Markle (Michael) of Arizona and Deborah Bibicoff of Florida; his friends, Michael Yacobellis and David Langton; and his sisters-in-law, Debra Fiore (Tom) and Christine Waxman (Lloyd). He is also survived by 8 nieces, 4 nephews, 11 grand nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Donald to Hospice (Helios Care; 297 River St. Service Rd., Oneonta, NY 13820) or to a charity of ones' choice.
