He is survived by: his spouse Gertrud Braun; his children, Patricia Johnston (Steve) of Poughkeepsie, NY, Gertrude Patello (Michael) of Richland, WA and John Klassen (Barbara) of Saugerties, NY.; and also, Marlena Hurta of Canada, Ed Hurta of Canada, Anne Voigt of Canada, Harry Voigt of Canada, Edward Klassen of Germany and Emmi Klassen of Germany.
