He is survived by: his wife Gay Marie Minasi; his children, John Hays, Michael Hays (Kristina) and Katherine Kirsch (Paul Jr.); and his grandchildren, Thomas Hays, Tyler Hays, Jenna Hays, Kirsten and Ashley. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
