He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Alquist and Dorothy Alquist; and his siblings, Elsie Hemmerich, Judith Miles and Willard Proctor.
He is survived by: his children, Johannes E. Jr. of South Carolina and LaTasha Rose Hughes (Jared) of South Carolina; and his siblings, Margaret Peluso (Charles), Mark H. Alquist, Sue Harris, Chris Heberle (Tom) and Eva Camp. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
