He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Levine (Judith Levine Natter) and Andrew. He is survived by: his wife Johanna DuBois Levine; his children, Sarah Levine of Pennsylvania, Christine Levine of Maryland, Rachel Levine of North Carolina and David Levine (Vienna) of Florida; his siblings, Jon Levine, Margo Cunningham (Patrick), Annie Weschler (Ira) and Ileen Natic (Victor); and his stepmother Eileen O'Halloran Levine. He is also survived by brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
