He is survived by: his brother Edgar Burde (Emily); his sons, John Burde (Carol), Matthew Burde (Yoko) and Benjamin Burde (Mika); and his stepchildren, Tracie Cassidy (P. John), Johanna Miller (Linda Reekie), Philip, Jennifer, Jack Cassidy, Ryan Cassidy, Justin Burde, Andrew Burde, Sarah Burde, Jacob Burde, Alexander Burde, Kaia Miller, Luna Burde and Daniel Burde. He is also survived by his niece and nephews.
