He was predeceased by: his parents, George Nientimp and Georgiana Nientimp; his wife Dale M. Scottow-Nientimp; and his siblings, George Nientimp (Eleanore), Gerald Nientimp (Babe), Helen Miller (Richard) and Marion Duke (Aaron).

He is survived by: his daughters, Karen Caton (Matthew), Jennifer Sauter (David) and Christine Baumgartner (Rodney); his stepchildren, Penny Wasnock-Toal (David) and Mark Wasnock (Marie); his grandchildren, Benjamin M. Caton, Hope A. Caton, Tyler J. Wheaton (Emily), Alyson M. Strickland (Conner), Molly K. Sauter, Collin D. Sauter, Joseph L. Fisher, Reina E. Wasnock, Seiya A. Wasnock and Mia U. Wasnock; and his close friend Corky Trombley. He is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

“Deepest sympathy. We met Charlie & Dale through square and round dancing. They were part of the Southern Tier Wheelers Square Dance Camping Club with us. Charlie was a dear man, always had such a good nature about him. We were blessed when he visited STW a year ago. May we all be as kind as Charlie. Many wonderful memories.
