John Whalen Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Whalen of Vestal, New York, who passed away on January 2, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Whalen and Bertha Whalen; and his son-in-law Joseph Roma. He is survived by: his wife Helen; his children, Daniel (Ivanka), David (Jackye) and MaryJane (Craig); his grandchildren, Sean, Dave, Kelly, Joe, Caitlyn, Sidnye and Kendyl; his great grandchildren, Sutton, Cole and Althea; and his sister-in-law Patricia Miller. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Our Lady of Sorrows Church (801 Main St, Vestal, NY 13850). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 N. McKinley Avenue Endicott NY 13760.
