He was predeceased by: his wife Rosemary; and his sister Sandra Schreck. He is survived by: his children, Robert Besecker (Cynthia), Suzann Gance (Michael) and Karen Nash (Daniel). He is also survived by five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Homer's memory can be made to the American Red Cross.
