He is survived by: his sister Bernadine Berk; and his children, William Karafiat, Robert Janis (Sally), Eric Janis (Kim), Endwell of New York, Donna Mott and Lodi of New York. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, ten great- grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
