He was predeceased by: his parents, George Merrill and Evelyn Merrill (Bangle). He is survived by: his daughters, Kimberly Merrill of Perrysburg, NY and Michelle Merrill of Gowanda, NY; his sister Lori Bell of Dallas, GA.; and his mother-in-law Sandra. He is also survived by his wife of 38 years whom he married.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
