He was predeceased by: his parents, William Sommers and Olive Eleanor Sommers (Redmond); and his nephew John Wesley Sommers. He is survived by: his wife Ruth M. Huff; his daughters, Johnna Westine (Jerry) of Vernon, NY, Brenda Marquardt (Stan) of Port Huron, MI, Beth Inda (Steve) of Warren, MI and Ruth Huntington (Bill) of Dearborn, MI.; and his granddaughters, Renee Knauer (Joe), Kimberly Rheinecker (Matt) and April Marquardt (Dan).
