We bid farewell to Richard D. Menzies III of Valley Stream, New York, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 8, 2024 at the age of 82. Richard touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Joanne; his children, Cathy Gerrato (Carl), Richard IV and Joseph (Michele); his grandchildren, Brian Gerrato (Taralena), Jennifer Laffey (Anthony), Kathleen Gerrato, Erin Segovia (Boris) and Robert Gerrato; his great grandchildren, Giovanni, Anthony, Marco, Lena, Vincent, Nicolette and Mia; his sister Barbara Pupa; his nephew Scott Pupa (Diane); and his niece Lori Mauro (Michael).
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 12th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Lieber Funeral Home (266 N Central Ave, Valley Stream, NY 11580). A procession was held on Friday, September 13th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 13th 2024 at the Calverton National Cemetery (210 Princeton Blvd, Calverton, NY 11933).
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to NYLEAP (New York Law Enforcement Assistance Program) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.
