He was predeceased by: his parents, James Merrill and Mary Merrill (Haussler); his brother Robert; his sister-in-law Maureen Merrill; and his sister Eileen Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Susan; his children, Scott Merrill (Robin) of East Greenbush and LeeAnn Schaub (Rob) of La Pointe, Wisconsin; his grandsons, James (Chelsea McGowan) and Robert Merrill; his sister Louann; and his brother-in-law Ray Sheffer. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
