He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Whitney and Elizabeth Whitney (Withers); and his sister Maribeth White. He is survived by: his wife Fran; his daughter Alexandria "Allie" Whitney (Olin Sanders); his granddaughter Aurora; his siblings, Jackie Johnson (Christopher) and Bob Whitney (Sue); his mother-in-law Cathy Giruzzi; and his in-laws, Philomena Coyne (Dennis), Anthony Giruzzi III, Rich Mrowka and Tom Scholl. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
