He was predeceased by: his father Vincent S. Salerno; and his daughters, Renee Marie Salerno and Rachelle Lynn Salerno. He is survived by: his mother Barbara Ziezio (Salerno) of Marcy; his son Vincent W.; his daughter-in-law Amanda Salerno; his granddaughter Aleena; his siblings, Mark Salerno of Marcy, Edward, Roseanne Smith of Utica, Anthony Salerno, Kati Ferguson of Utica, Melissa and Mike Olsen (Utica); his aunt Vicky; his nieces and nephews, Nikolas, Marco, Eddie and Hannah; and his goddaughter Giuliana.
In his final act of kindness, Vincent selflessly donated his body to science for the betterment of health research.
