She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Vanvalkenburgh and Barbara Thomsen; her grandmother Domenica "Minnie" Thomsen; and her cousin Joseph Adroved. She is survived by: her children, Nicole Carter and Dylan Morton-Vanvalkenburgh; her grandchildren, Lillyana Rivers, Natalia Carter and Giavonna Carter; her siblings, Thomas Vanvalkenburgh, Naseem Vanvalkenburgh and Saharah Vanvalkenburgh (Lance DeCarlo Sr.); her stepsisters, Kimberly LaValley and Kristin Foley; her nieces and nephews, Austin, Joseph Vanvalkenburgh, Lance Jr., Melissa DeCarlo, Lucas, Logan, Liam DeCarlo, Christopher, Alexandria and Gabriella Vanvalkenburgh; her great-nieces, Naseem Brown and Lena Samardzic; her aunt Dorothy "Dottie" Adroved; and her uncle Francis Thomsen.
