Roberta (Hosey) Sardina Obituary

Roberta M. (Hosey) Sardina, age 89, of Utica, went to the arms of the Lord on Wednesday February 26, 2025, at the University Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, with the love of her family in her heart.

She was born in Utica on August 4, 1935, to the late Robert Hosey and Pauline DeCarlo Hosey. She attended St. Francis deSales School, Utica Free Academy and the Utica School of Commerce. She was of the Roman Catholic Faith. At one time she was married to Paul Sardina. He passed away in 1987.

Roberta was employed from 1979-1996 at Metropolitan Life Ins. Co. at the Oneida County Airport and most recently worked as a caregiver from 1999, until her retirement in 2018.

She is survived by her beloved sons and their wives Michael and Anna Sardina of N. Utica; Mark of San Antonio, TX; Daniel and Saritza Sardina of Kissimmee, FL; and James of Utica; six treasured granddaughters, Nicole, Christina, Paloma, Camile, Jessica and Miriam; four beloved grandsons Anthony, Michael, Matthew and Mark, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sons Paul in 1956 and Robert in 1994, two brothers Robert in 2023 and Don in 2025 and one sister Patricia Rocco in 2024.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Monday March 3, at 11:00 am in Mary, Mother of Our Savior Church (Our Lady of Lourdes Campus) 2222 Genesee St. Utica. The family will greet all visitors at the conclusion of mass in church. Private entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
