He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert A. Sr. Payne and Erma Payne (Doxstader); his daughter Michelle Ward Nolan; his sister Deanne; and his siblings-in-law, Patrick Burke and Linda Payne (Brian Longway).
He is survived by: his wife Joan Stadt; his children, Robert III (Lisa Payne), Denise (Steven "Chops" Burline) and Deborah Hajdasz (John Lawendowski); his son-in-law Scot Nolan; his grandchildren, Ryan Payne, Nicole, Andrew Citriniti, Jessica Burline, Tija, Ernie Marcello, Tiffany, Anthony Brandal, Mikayla Ward, Dominic Citriniti, Joshua Ward, Natalie and Olivia Nolan; his great grandchildren, Gianna, Adelina Marcello, Landon Brandal and Angelo John Citriniti; his siblings, Jon Payne, Patricia (James Caruthers), Mary Lou (Terrance Coughlin), Carole Longway and Michael Payne (Cynthia DuPrau); and his in-laws, Kathleen and William Perun. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
