With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rita Jean (Miller) Cardillo (Utica, New York), born in Philadelphia, New York, who passed away on March 29, 2023 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Murray Miller and Bernadette Miller; her former husband Felix S. Cardillo, Sr.; and her brothers, Thomas and Dennis.
She is survived by: her husband John R. Moore; her daughters, Michele DePietro (Tony), Melissa Wallace (Brian) and Maureen Moore-Haley (John); her granddaughters, Grace, Julia DePietro, Megan and Kiera Haley; her extended family, Elizabeth Cardillo (late Mike), Phyllis Yeagle (Skip) and Diane Cardillo (late Felix Jr.); her sisters-in-law, Cecilia Cardillo, Barbara Whitaker and Maureen Moore; her cousin Bev Shepard; her friend George Kozminski; and also, Mike Jr., Tony Sam (Michelle), Chad (Sharlene), Greig Cardillo (Karen), Brett (Marissa), Brianne Cardillo, Jessica and Justin Yeagle. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other cousins.
Rita specifically requests that flowers be omitted, or given to the living; those who wish to honor her memory may want to consider donations to any of the following: Hope House, St. John's Food Pantry, Utica Rehabilitation & Nursing or Historic Old St. John's Organ fund, to keep on singing while Rita plays in the heavens.
